Today’s post is the result of a little blog swap between myself and Danielle of I Dig Music. (Click that link to read my post on her blog about why I dig music!) As fellow music fans and bloggers with a TON of bands in common, we thought it would be fun to get a monthly series going, so say hello to #MusingMelodies! Each month we’ll be sharing thoughts on various music topics on our respective blogs and asking you to join in the fun. We have a lot of great ideas in store and can’t wait to share them. But for today, I’d love for you to get to know Danielle and what it means to her to be a “Good Groupie”:
When I first came across Miranda’s blog I was intrigued. Not just because she put a positive spin on the word “groupie” (but whoa—props for that!), not just because she was a fellow Hanson fan (props for that too), and not just because she had great taste in music…I was reeled in because her posts focused on the experience of being a music fan. She wasn’t just reviewing albums from week to week; she was talking about so much more than that. It’s so relate-able as a fellow music geek.
One of my favorite movies is “Almost Famous”. But as Miranda so eloquently pointed out: I didn’t love the movie because I wanted to be Penny Lane (although I’ll admit: I have recreated that scene where she’s dancing around the empty venue in real life after a Will Hoge show, and it was quite the moment.) — I loved it because I wanted to be William.
