The Beat is my monthly musical link love post. It’s a quick run down of all the great music articles I’ve read lately and stuff I think you might enjoy too.
Am I too old for music? It’s a question I asked nearly two years ago, but every time I share it…it strikes a nerve. “I can totally relate!” people tell me.
I think at this point I’ve decided even if I’ve slowed down on how many shows I make it to, I’ll never be too old for music. There’s always new music to be discovered.
But is it okay to love bands younger than me? Hmm…
Last year just before SXSW, I fell totally in love with The Strypes. They’re a little indie rock band out of Ireland, and every member was more than a decade younger than me. Eek!
Was it okay to love them anyway? Would I need to change my name to “The Cougar Groupie” instead?
