I like bedroom music. Man, that statement kind of makes you question me calling myself the “good” groupie, huh? But before you go too far down that road, let me explain exactly what I mean.
Last week I had a moment where I needed to take a breath, take a break and just chill out from everything for a good 10-15 minutes. When I get like that, there’s only one thing I want to do. Lay down on my bed, turn my music way up and just zone out.
But it can’t be just any music – I need something quiet and comforting. Something that’s going to wrap me up in its beauty. Soft beats, acoustic guitars, quite vocals.
And that, my friends, is what I call bedroom music.
Which is why I’m super excited to introduce you to Reddening West in today’s New Music Monday post – their sound is my definition of bedroom music. (In fact, in preparation for writing this I did the exact scenario outlined above to give their debut EP its proper pre-writing listen.)
