It’s been awhile since a #bestsongallweek post has gone up. Ninety-one days, to be exact, and I feel like we need to have a quick chat about it. We’ve been keeping it going on Twitter most Fridays this summer, which I love so much. I always enjoy seeing – and hearing – what YOU guys are listening to. (And it’s a great opportunity for me to discover some new music from you.)
For that reason I don’t want it to go anywhere. This post has been a longtime favorite of mine because I feel like I’ve gotten to share little pieces of myself by telling stories about what makes a song my best one of the week.
But, truth be told, it’s also one of the hardest series to manage because I don’t have the most consistent schedule these days. It’s made me realize this summer something needed to change. I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to hear your picks, but I also needed a more feasible way to share it all.
So here’s how #bestsongallweek is changing:
We’re going to keep it going on Twitter. Every Friday, I encourage you to throw out your pick using the hashtag – and bonus points for a listening link. (YouTube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Spotify…whatever floats your boat.) I’ll continue sharing my picks too and a link to the hashtag so you can browse through everyone’s selections at your leisure. Think of it as a playlist curated by some of the coolest music fans around.
On the blog, I’ll be changing up how I post about individual songs because I really enjoy sharing those stories. I have a few ideas up my sleeve I’m not quite ready to share, but you’ll be hearing more on that very soon.
Sound like a plan?
Be sure you’re following me on Twitter so you don’t miss any of the good music! And since it’s Friday…why not hop on Twitter right now and share your pick? New, old, good, bad, guilty pleasure…doesn’t matter. There’s zero judgement in #bestsongallweek land. It just has to be the BEST song you listened to in the last seven days.
